How do we know that we are among God's elect?

Answered in 1 source

We know we are God's elect through the faith given by the Holy Spirit, which reveals our relationship with Christ.

The assurance of election is not simply a matter of intellectual understanding; it is grounded in the experiential knowledge of salvation imparted by the Holy Spirit. As indicated in Ephesians 1:13, once we hear the gospel and trust in Christ, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit, confirming our identity as part of God’s elect. This inner conviction of salvation is what allows us to confidently declare our place among the chosen. Our faith, therefore, acts as the evidence of our election, as Paul notes in Hebrews 11:1 that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
