How do we know that we are called to live holy lives?

Answered in 1 source

We are called to live holy lives because God commands it and has equipped us through His promises and the nature of Christ.

The call to holiness is evident throughout Scripture. In 1 Peter 1:14-16, we are instructed to be holy in all our conduct because God is holy. This isn't just a suggestion but a command, reaffirming our identity as His chosen people. Additionally, in 2 Peter 1:3-4, the Apostle reminds us that through His divine power, we have been given everything necessary for life and godliness. The promise of new life in Christ includes a new nature that reflects God's holiness, enabling us to live set apart lives. Therefore, our commitment to holiness is rooted in our relationship with God and His transformative work in us.
