How do we know that we are free in Christ?

The evidence of our freedom in Christ begins with the conviction of our sinfulness. The first token of freedom is the realization that we are in bondage to sin and need a Savior. This self-awareness leads us to cry out for mercy, which is a mark of the Holy Spirit's work in our hearts. When we come to trust in Christ, we realize that He has paid our debts, fulfilling the law on our behalf and granting us the freedom that comes through faith. This assurance is grounded not in our actions but in His sufficiency and grace.
