How do we know that we are freed from sin?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are assured of their freedom from sin because Christ died for our sins and rose again, granting us new life (Romans 6:6-7).

Romans 6 emphasizes that believers are liberated from the power of sin because they have died with Christ. The death of Christ is so effectual that it signifies our old selves being crucified, allowing us to be free from the dominion of sin. The resurrection not only confirms this freedom but also assures us of new life, where the believer no longer lives under the yoke of sin. Thus, the transformative power of the gospel assures Christians of their new standing in Christ, enabling them to live in victory rather than defeat.
