How do we know that we are keeping God's commandments?

Answered in 1 source

We know we are keeping God's commandments when our lives reflect His love and we actively obey His Word.

The assurance of keeping God's commandments manifests through our love for Him and our efforts to live in alignment with His Word. In 1 John 2:4-5, it is articulated that if someone claims to know God yet does not keep His commandments, they are a liar. Conversely, the one who keeps His Word demonstrates that God's love is perfected in them. This process indicates a relational dynamic between God and the believer, where obedience is a natural response to God's love and grace. Keeping His commandments does not constitute a means to earn salvation; it rather flows from a heart transformed by the gospel, showing evidence of regeneration and sanctification in Christ.
