How do we know that we are made righteous?

Answered in 1 source

We are made righteous through the obedience of Christ.

Romans 5:19 explains that just as many were made sinners by one man's disobedience, many shall be made righteous by the obedience of one, namely Jesus Christ. This righteousness is not something we earn or achieve; it is a sovereign act of God based solely on Christ's completed work. Jesus’ obedience, culminating in His death on the cross, secures righteousness for those chosen by God. The passive nature of being made righteous emphasizes that it is God's grace that transforms us, showcasing the importance of Christ's redemptive work in our lives. Thus, the righteousness we obtain is a gift, not a reward for our actions.
