How do we know that we are not good enough for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that no one is truly good except God, and all have sinned.

In Matthew 19:17, Jesus states, 'There is none good but one, that is, God.' This emphasizes the biblical truth that apart from God's perfection, humanity falls short of His holy standard. Romans 3:23 reinforces this by stating that 'all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.' Therefore, any attempt to earn salvation through personal righteousness is futile, as it is God's grace that provides salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone, as highlighted in Romans 5:1.
