How do we know that we are nothing in the sight of God?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that all the inhabitants of the earth are considered as nothing compared to God's glory (Daniel 4:35).

Scripture makes it clear that before God's majesty, every human being is seen as nothing. In Daniel 4:35, it states, "...all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing..." This assertion aligns with what Isaiah expresses in Isaiah 40:17, stating that all nations are as nothing and less than nothing in the sight of God. This reveals the vast chasm between God's uncreated and sovereign existence and our created, dependent nature. It leads us to recognize our humble position and encourages a posture of worship and reverence towards God, acknowledging that we can offer Him nothing of worth without His grace and mercy.
