How do we know that we are part of God's elect?

Answered in 4 sources

Assurance of being God's elect comes through faith in Christ and the presence of His truth and love within us.

Knowing that one is among God's elect stems from the belief in the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s life. John highlights that God's people are defined by their faith in Christ, which connects to their identity as the elect. The presence of the truth in their hearts and a genuine love for God and His Word serve as affirmations of their election. 1 Thessalonians 1 affirms this by stating, 'Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.' It is through recognizing one's reliance on grace and the fruit of the Spirit that believers can have confidence in their status as God's chosen people.
