How do we know that we are spiritually alive in Christ?

Answered in 2 sources

We are made spiritually alive through God's mercy as He quickens us even when we are dead in sin (Ephesians 2:4-5).

Scripture teaches that we were all dead in our trespasses and sins, unable to respond to God on our own (Ephesians 2:4-5). However, it is God, in His rich mercy, who quickens us, making us spiritually alive through Christ. This transformation indicates that the believer will begin to exhibit a new heart, new affections, and a desire to follow God, which can be understood as evidence of spiritual life. The work of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s heart serves as assurance of their regeneration, where they move from rebellion to submission, recognizing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Knowing this truth strengthens a Christian's faith and encourages them to live in the light of their new identity in Christ.
