How do we know that we are spiritually sick?

Answered in 1 source

Spiritual sickness is recognized through the acknowledgment of our sinful nature and our inability to save ourselves.

The Bible teaches that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). This universal condition of sinfulness is akin to spiritual sickness. Jesus' metaphor of the physician illustrates this concept, as He points out that those who are well do not seek a doctor. A crucial aspect of spiritual awareness is recognizing our need for Christ as our Savior. Many may not perceive their condition, similar to how healthy individuals do not see a doctor; however, true understanding comes only when one is confronted with the reality of sin and its consequences. Only through God's enlightenment can we grasp our desperate need for the Great Physician.
