How do we know that we are the true people of God?

Answered in 1 source

We can identify ourselves as the true people of God through worship in Spirit, rejoicing in Christ Jesus, and having no confidence in the flesh.

In Philippians 3:3, Paul gives three markers of true believers: worshiping God in the Spirit, rejoicing in Christ Jesus, and having no confidence in the flesh. To worship God in spirit signifies a spiritual and heartfelt relationship with God, not confined to external rituals. Rejoicing in Christ reflects the believer's focus on who Jesus is and what He has accomplished for salvation. Finally, having no confidence in the flesh means that we do not rely on our own merits or actions for favor with God, but fully trust in Christ's sufficiency and righteousness. These markers distinguish God's people from those who depend on their own works.
