How do we know that we belong to God?

Answered in 4 sources

We know we belong to God through His sovereign grace, our profession of faith, and the purchase of Christ's blood (Ephesians 5:25).

Belonging to God is affirmed through several key doctrines of grace. First, God's sovereign election defines our relationship with Him, where He has chosen us to be His people long before we were born. Secondly, our redemption through the blood of Christ confirms that we have been specifically purchased for His glory. Ephesians 5:25 states that Christ gave Himself for the church, highlighting that He did not die for everyone in the same way but for those whom He has redeemed. Lastly, through our profession of faith, which can be symbolized by baptism, we publicly declare our allegiance to Christ, claiming that we are no longer our own but belong altogether to Him.
