How do we know that we can bless the Lord?

Answered in 1 source

We bless the Lord through the gospel, which stirs the soul and leads us to acknowledge His mercy and grace.

The ability to bless the Lord comes from a deep understanding and appreciation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As highlighted in the sermon, we are exhorted to stir our souls not through emotional means, but through a thoughtful consideration of God's grace and salvation. In Psalm 103:1, the psalmist calls upon his soul to bless the Lord, indicating that this action is both personal and internal. The gospel reveals our need for forgiveness and shows us God's mercy towards us, which in turn provokes our hearts to respond in praise and worship. This personal interaction with God, facilitated by His grace, empowers us to bless Him earnestly.
