How do we know that we cannot be justified by the works of the law?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible makes it clear that no man can be justified by the law because justification comes through faith, as stated in Galatians.

Paul asserts in Galatians 3:11 that no one is justified in the sight of God by the works of the law; instead, the just shall live by faith. This principle is further illustrated through the example of Abraham, whose faith was counted as righteousness (Genesis 15:6). The law, while good, was never intended to be a means of salvation, but rather to reveal our sinfulness and our need for grace. Consequently, reliance on the law leads only to condemnation rather than justification.
