How do we know that we must present our bodies to God?

Answered in 1 source

We are called to present our bodies to God as a direct response to His mercies.

Paul’s plea in Romans 12:1-2, 'I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,' highlights that our presentation to God is not a command but a response to His grace. The preceding chapters of Romans outline our need for salvation and how God has mercifully provided for it through Christ. Recognizing our unworthiness and God's compassion compels us to respond with our lives, offering all aspects of ourselves as living sacrifices that honor Him.
