How do we know that we need counsel from God?

Answered in 1 source

We need counsel from God because, by nature, we are inclined to evil and require divine wisdom for guidance (Romans 1:21).

The necessity for divine counsel arises from our sinful nature, which often leads us astray. Romans 1:21 highlights that although we know God, we fail to glorify Him and often pursue our own paths of self-righteousness. Recognizing our tendency towards rebellion and ignorance, as expressed in Job 11:12, helps us see our need for counsel from God. This counsel points us towards Christ, who offers the wisdom we lack and the understanding we need to navigate a world filled with deceit and temptation. Ultimately, acknowledging our need for God's counsel leads us to seek Him and submit to His righteousness.
