How do we know that we need to be born again?

The necessity of being born again arises from the biblical truth found in Ephesians 2:1, which states that we are dead in trespasses and sins. This condition of spiritual death results in a complete inability to understand or accept the gospel of Jesus Christ on our own. Adam's disobedience, as prophesied in Genesis 2:17, brought about a spiritual death that affects all humanity. Therefore, a new birth is crucial to receiving the gift of faith and understanding God’s truth. Without being born from above, we remain incapable of perceiving the realities of God’s Kingdom, highlighting the deep reliance on God's sovereign mercy for our salvation.
