How do we know that we need to be reconciled to God?

Answered in 1 source

We know we need reconciliation because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, making us enemies of God.

Romans 3:23 clearly states, 'For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.' This universal condition of sinfulness means that, by nature, we are at enmity with God. Our transgressions separate us from Him, leading to spiritual death. Recognizing our sinful nature is crucial because it drives us to seek the remedy provided in Christ. Until we understand our desperate need for reconciliation, we might falsely believe that we can stand righteous before God by our own merits.
