How do we know that we receive mercy from God?

Answered in 1 source

We know we receive mercy from God because it is given to those who are prayerless, despising, and unthankful, yet called by His grace.

Mercy from God is given not to the deserving, but rather to those who are unworthy and recognize their need for His grace. According to Isaiah 43:22-24, those who receive mercy are characterized as prayerless and thankless, often weary of God and His ways. The Biblical narrative supports this by showing that true recipients of God's mercy must first acknowledge their spiritual poverty and inability. However, God, in His sovereign grace, extends mercy for His own sake, as He declares in Isaiah 43:25. The assurance of mercy comes from understanding that it is granted out of God's everlasting love and the finished work of Christ, and it is based solely on His sovereign choice, not our works or worthiness.
