How do we know that we will persevere in faith?

Answered in 1 source

We can trust that God will complete His work in us, ensuring our perseverance in faith (Philippians 1:6).

God's promise to complete the work He began in us is central to the doctrine of perseverance of the saints. If we have genuinely experienced the transformative work of God, we will find within us a compelling need to remain connected to the means of grace—such as hearing the Gospel and participating in communal worship. The Scripture assures us that true believers will endure because it is God who sustains our faith. Paul emphasizes that the confidence we have is not based on our own righteousness but on God's unchanging promises. Therefore, if the Lord has begun a good work in you, He will keep you, guiding you through life's trials toward the final fruition of your faith.
