How do we know that worship should be directed to God alone?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible commands followers to worship only God, as seen in various scriptures.

Throughout Scripture, worship is consistently directed towards God alone. The command in Revelation 22:9 explicitly instructs John not to worship the angel, highlighting that worship is reserved for the Creator. This is reinforced in both the Old and New Testaments, where God repeatedly calls His people to devote their worship solely to Him. Worshiping anything or anyone else is explicitly forbidden and contradicts the essence of true worship, which is to acknowledge God's supremacy and uniqueness.
