How do we know the assurance of eternal life?

Answered in 1 source

Eternal life is assured to those who continue to abide in Christ and hold fast to the truth.

The assurance of eternal life is rooted in the believer's steadfastness in the truth of the gospel. In 1 John 2:25, it states that this is the promise God has made to those who believe in His Son. By continuing in faith and trusting in Christ as their only righteousness, believers are assured of their salvation. The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in this assurance, teaching and reminding them of the truth. When believers hold fast to the Word and abide in Christ, they demonstrate that they are indeed His children, promised eternal life.
