How do we know the authority of Christ in our lives?

Answered in 1 source

Believers recognize Christ's authority in their lives through submission to His Word and the transformative work of His Spirit.

The authority of Christ in a believer's life manifests through the submission to His teachings and the recognition of His role as prophet, priest, and king. In Colossians, Paul points out that Jesus' role grants every believer the ability to serve and minister within the body of Christ. The act of letting the Word of Christ dwell in us richly (Colossians 3:16) indicates that through Scripture's teachings and the Holy Spirit’s guidance, believers are empowered to live under Christ’s authority. This understanding not only directs individual behavior but also encourages mutual edification within the Christian community.
