How do we know the Bible has influenced charity and humanitarian efforts?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible has provided the moral foundation for humanitarian institutions that care for society’s vulnerable.

The sermon illustrates that nearly all humanitarian and charitable efforts find their roots in biblical teachings. Historically, concepts of charity, care for the sick, and concern for the less fortunate were revolutionized by biblical principles. The pervasive influence of the Bible reshaped societal norms regarding compassion and mercy. As such, we owe many of our modern institutions for societal care to the moral and ethical standards set forth in Scripture, marking it as a pivotal source for social development.
