How do we know the calling of a pastor is genuine?

Answered in 1 source

A genuine pastor will focus on preaching Christ and Him crucified without straying from this mission.

A true pastor's calling is evidenced by his unwavering commitment to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. As outlined in 2 Timothy 4:1-2, the pastor is charged to preach the Word, reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all longsuffering. If a pastor shifts from this core message, he may not genuinely fulfill his calling. The consistency of his message, primarily centered on Christ's sacrificial work, serves as a testimony to his calling and devotion to the truth of Scripture.
