How do we know the chastening of the Lord is for our good?

Answered in 1 source

We know it is for our good because the Bible assures us that all things, including chastening, work together for those who love God (Romans 8:28).

The assurance found in Romans 8:28 confirms that all experiences, including trials and chastisements, ultimately serve for the good of those who love God. This works in tandem with the understanding that God's chastisement is rooted in His perfect love. He only disciplines His children to shape them into His likeness and to help them grow in holiness, leading to the resultant peaceable fruit of righteousness. Thus, the struggles and corrections faced by believers have a divine purpose aligned with their eternal good.
