How do we know the contemporary gospel is true?

Answered in 1 source

The contemporary gospel must align with Scripture to be considered true and valid for salvation.

To determine the truth of the contemporary gospel, we must measure it against the standard set forth in Holy Scripture. The authority of Scripture is paramount; if a gospel message contradicts the teachings of the Bible, it cannot be regarded as true. In Acts 20:20-21, Paul emphasizes preaching repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ, indicating that any gospel proclaiming otherwise falls short of biblical truth. Moreover, the acknowledgment of God's sovereignty and holiness in relation to human sin is essential for a proper understanding of the gospel. Only when the contemporary gospel reflects these key elements can it be deemed true.
