How do we know the covenant of works is flawed?

The covenant of works is deemed flawed as it is conditional upon human obedience, which is impossible due to our sinful nature. Scriptures such as Hebrews 8:7-8 indicate that if the first covenant had been faultless, there would be no need for a second. This reveals that the insufficiency of the law highlights our need for grace, for no one can keep the law perfectly.
