How do we know the doctrine of assurance is true?

Answered in 3 sources

The doctrine of assurance is grounded in Scripture, providing believers confidence in their salvation through faith in Christ's finished work.

Assurance is vital to the believer's walk, rooted in the promises of God found in Scripture. Romans 8:38-39 assures us that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Furthermore, the Holy Spirit's witness in our hearts, as noted in Romans 8:16, confirms our identity as God's children. Assurance is not based on our works but on the finished work of Christ and God's sovereign grace. This assurance fuels our spiritual growth and enables us to live boldly for Him, as we are convinced that He who began a good work in us will complete it (Philippians 1:6).
