How do we know the fulfillment of biblical prophecies?

Answered in 1 source

Biblical prophecies are often understood fully only after their fulfillment has occurred.

The understanding of biblical prophecies is closely linked to their fulfillment in history. In the sermon, it was noted that the disciples' curiosity about prophetic events shows a tendency to seek clarity about future happenings. However, the Lord indicated that many prophetic insights will only be fully grasped once they are realized. Just as the Apostle Peter understood the fulfillment of Joel's prophecy regarding the outpouring of the Holy Spirit after it occurred (Acts 2:16), believers today can only accurately interpret prophecies by reflecting on their completed aspects and context. Therefore, a humble approach to prophecy, acknowledging that not all details may be clear until God chooses to reveal them, is essential for understanding the timeline of divine events.
