How do we know the glory of God is essential for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The glory of God is essential because salvation is ultimately about God’s work and His glory, not ours.

In addressing the glory of God, we recognize that salvation is designed to bring glory to God above all else. It is stated that if man receives any glory in his salvation, it undermines the truth of Scripture which proclaims that salvation is all of God's grace and work. By emphasizing the glory of God alone, believers affirm that their entire salvation is rooted in God's sovereign plan and execution rather than their own actions or merits. In Romans 11:36, it is highlighted that all things are from Him and through Him and to Him, reminding us that ultimate glory belongs to God alone. This understanding encourages humility among believers and underscores the faith that rests solely in God's grace.
