How do we know the gospel is effective?

Answered in 7 sources

The effectiveness of the gospel is evidenced by its ability to transform hearts and lives, producing lasting spiritual fruit.

The gospel's effectiveness can be seen in the transformation it brings to those who genuinely accept it into their hearts. In the parable of the sower, the seed that falls on good ground illustrates those who hear the gospel and actively receive it, allowing it to take root and grow in their lives. This spiritual growth results in a fruitful harvest, demonstrating that the gospel is indeed powerful and capable of changing lives. In Romans 1:16, we find that the gospel is 'the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.' Moreover, as believers experience ongoing sanctification and a deeper understanding of grace, they bear witness to the gospel's transformative impact. Therefore, the evidence of the gospel's effectiveness lies in the changed lives of those who embrace it.
