How do we know the gospel is not meant to be perverted?

Answered in 1 source

The gospel cannot be altered as it is God's revelation of grace, with Paul even declaring a curse on anyone who perverts it.

The integrity of the gospel is paramount in Scripture. In Galatians 1:8-9, Paul states that if anyone preaches a gospel contrary to the one he delivered, even an angel from heaven, let him be accursed. This firm position highlights the seriousness of maintaining the purity of the gospel message. The gospel reveals God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ and encompasses His grace and mercy. Any addition of works or law undermines this core message and distorts the purpose of Christ's sacrifice.
