How do we know the gospel is the true treasure?

The gospel is often referred to as the treasure because it holds the key to salvation for sinners, as indicated by Romans 1:16, which states that it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. This treasure reveals the beauty and majesty of Christ, showing that He is both the source and the content of eternal life. Paul writes in Colossians 2:3 that in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Therefore, the gospel, which centers around Christ, is invaluable and unmatched compared to the worldly pursuits that are ultimately worthless.
