How do we know the Gospel was preached in the Old Testament?

Answered in 1 source

The Gospel was indeed proclaimed in the Old Testament, as seen in Hebrews and Galatians, where it relates to promises made to Abraham.

In the sermon, it is noted that the Gospel, defined as good news, was announced even in the Old Testament times. For example, in Galatians 3, it is mentioned that the Gospel was preached to Abraham, indicating a continuity of God's redemptive plan. While the clarity of the Gospel is fully revealed in the New Testament, God's nature and promises of salvation and rest were already foreshadowed in the Old Testament, showing that faith in His promises transcends both covenants and binds the faithful from both eras together in their hope of salvation through Christ.
