How do we know the Great Commission is true?

Answered in 7 sources

The Great Commission is affirmed through Christ's authority and the promises of God, as well as the historical fulfillment of spreading the gospel.

The truth of the Great Commission is anchored in the authority given to Christ and the command He imparts to His disciples. In Matthew 28:18, Jesus declares that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him, establishing His sovereignty. This assures us that the commission to evangelize is backed by divine power. Moreover, historical evidence shows the fulfillment of this commission, as the gospel has spread throughout the world from the early church to the present day, affirming God's promise to draw His people from every nation. Our confidence in its truth rests on the faithfulness of God to His word and the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers.
