How do we know the Holy Spirit is given to us?

The assurance of receiving the Holy Spirit comes through our belief in Jesus Christ. As stated in John 7:38, 'He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.' This promise reflects the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer, who, upon coming to faith, experiences a newfound vitality and purpose. Furthermore, the role of the Holy Spirit includes convicting us of our sin, revealing Christ to us, and enabling us to live in accordance with God's will. The evidence of the Spirit's presence is evidenced by a changed life, a longing for holiness, and a desire to share the gospel with others.
