How do we know the Holy Spirit is still present with us?

Answered in 1 source

The promise of Christ assures us that the Holy Spirit abides with believers forever.

The presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer is guaranteed by the words of Jesus in John 14:16, where He assures us that the Father will send another Comforter who will be with us forever. This promise is a source of comfort, especially during times of spiritual struggle or uncertainty. Furthermore, the New Testament emphasizes that the Holy Spirit indwells believers, sealing them as God's own (Ephesians 1:13-14). The consistent experiences of conviction for sin, spiritual growth, and the fruit of the Spirit in our lives serve as evidence of the Holy Spirit's active presence in us. Thus, through faith in Christ and His promises, we can be assured that the Holy Spirit is continually present within us.
