How do we know the hope of the gospel is true?

Answered in 4 sources

The truth of the hope of the gospel is rooted in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which confirms our justification and acceptance before God.

The hope of the gospel is validated by the finished work of Christ on the cross. According to Colossians 2:13-14, Christ's death blots out the handwritten charges against us and reconciles us completely to God. Furthermore, the resurrection of Christ is central to our hope, as indicated in 1 Thessalonians 4, where we are assured that if Christ rose, so shall we. The promises of God, combined with the historical reality of Christ's resurrection and the transformative power of the gospel in believers' lives, assure us that this hope is both certain and life-changing.
