How do we know the importance of hearing God's Word?

Answered in 2 sources

Hearing God's Word is vital because faith comes from hearing, and it is through the Word that understanding and conviction are built.

Hearing the Word of God holds great significance in the life of a believer, as Romans 10:17 states, 'So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.' The ministry of hearing activates faith in the soul of a sinner. Throughout Mark 4, Jesus emphasizes the act of listening: multiple times he implores his listeners to have ears to hear. Faith cannot be cultivated without engagement with the Word, and genuine reception is marked by understanding and conviction, leading to transformation in a believer's life. By prioritizing the hearing of the Gospel, we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit's work in our hearts.
