How do we know the importance of the Word of God?

Answered in 1 source

The Word of God is vital for spiritual growth and comfort, analogous to how rain is essential for crops.

The significance of the Word of God for believers can be compared to the critical need for rain in agriculture. Just as rain fosters growth and productivity in plants, the Scriptures are essential for the spiritual health and development of believers. As Isaiah 55:10-11 articulates, just as rain fulfills its purpose when it falls, so does God’s Word accomplish His divine purposes in the lives of His people. Without the continual influence of God’s Word, souls languish, paralleling how crops suffer without adequate rainfall. Therefore, the ministry of the Word is not merely an option, but a necessity for sustaining faith and fostering growth in grace.
