How do we know the law is not the solution for sin?

Answered in 1 source

The law reveals sin but cannot save us; it exposes our inability to meet God's standards.

As explained in Romans 7, the law is holy and good, yet it functions to expose our sin rather than provide salvation. The Apostle Paul teaches that the law's purpose is to highlight our failures, leading us to recognize our need for Christ. The law cannot bring about righteousness or life; instead, it brings death and judgment. Thus, while the law serves an important role in revealing sin, it ultimately cannot save us from it. The transition to living under grace frees believers from the law's condemnation.
