How do we know the lie about free will is true?

Answered in 1 source

The truth is that the lie of free will contradicts Scripture, which teaches that humans are bound by their sinful nature and cannot choose God without divine intervention.

The belief in free will maintains that individuals can choose God on their own accord, which undermines the sovereign grace of God. Scripture presents all human efforts as insufficient, showing that our desires are fundamentally flawed and governed by sin (Romans 3:10-12). True faith is a result of being regenerated by the Holy Spirit, not the outcome of human decision-making. In this light, the notion that man holds the key to his own salvation is a profound misunderstanding of God's sovereignty and grace. When we grasp the depth of our depravity, we understand that without the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, we cannot choose the good or pursue Christ.
