How do we know the Lord's Table does not confer salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The Lord's Table involves symbols of Christ's body and blood, not actual physical elements that provide salvation.

The Lord's Table is fundamentally symbolic, as emphasized in the command of Christ during the Last Supper. While some traditions view this practice as a means of grace or transubstantiation, the Reformed understanding is clear that the bread and wine do not transform into Christ's physical body and blood. Instead, they are reminders of His sacrifice. The Scripture teaches that Christ's one act of atonement on the cross is sufficient for salvation, and hence, the Lord's Table serves as a memorial rather than a means to acquire it. As such, participation in the table is not to be confused with the process of salvation God has completed through Christ.
