How do we know the message of the gospel is for me?

Answered in 1 source

The gospel message is for you if you recognize your need for grace and trust in Christ's finished work for your salvation.

In Mark 16, the angel specifically instructs to 'tell the disciples and Peter,' which emphasizes that the message of the gospel is indeed personal. This shows that even those who have stumbled or faltered, like Peter, are still recipients of God's grace and mercy (Romans 5:20). The assurance comes from the faith we have been given to believe that Christ's work encompasses all sinners who acknowledge their need for Him. The message is not conditioned on our performance but upon God's choice to love and save us, which is evidenced throughout Scripture (Ephesians 1:4-5). Therefore, if you find yourself identifying with Peter—acknowledging your failings and looking to Christ—the gospel is undeniably for you.
