How do we know the necessity of the Holy Spirit in witnessing?

Answered in 1 source

The Holy Spirit's work is essential for believers to effectively witness for Christ.

Before one can witness for Christ, it is imperative that they have been quickened and regenerated by the Holy Spirit. This transformation is necessary for genuine understanding and ability to convey the message of Christ effectively. As stated in Acts 1:5-8, the apostles were promised the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to enable them to be effective witnesses, underscoring the critical role of divine intervention in evangelism. This applies to all believers today, who cannot accurately testify about someone they do not know intimately through the Spirit’s work.
