How do we know the new covenant is better than the old one?

Answered in 1 source

The new covenant is better as it promises eternal salvation through Christ's sacrifice, unlike the old covenant which could not save.

The superiority of the new covenant over the old is established in Hebrews 8:7-13, where it is stated that the old covenant had faults due to human inability to keep the law. The new covenant, established by Christ, offers better promises and provides an effective means of salvation through His sacrificial death. This fulfillment of the law's requirements reestablishes communion between God and His people. Unlike the old covenant, which merely diagnosed the problem of sin, the new covenant effectively addresses and resolves it through grace.
