How do we know the Old Covenant tithe is not required for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The Old Covenant tithe is not required for Christians because it was based on the Mosaic Law, which has been fulfilled in Christ.

The New Covenant represents a transition from the Old Covenant laws, including tithing, which were specific to Israel's agricultural society and practice. Deuteronomy 14 outlines how the tithe was meant to support the Levite and the needy, but these stipulations do not carry over into the New Covenant context. Paul teaches that believers are free from the law and called to give generously according to their ability, without legalistic constraints, as reflected in Romans 7:4. Thus, the imposition of tithing as a legal requirement distorts the true grace-giving that should characterize the life of a believer.
