How do we know the promise of a new creation is true?

Answered in 1 source

The promise of a new creation is affirmed in Scripture, rooted in God's faithfulness and the resurrection of Christ.

The assurance of a new creation stems from the character of God as faithful and trustworthy. In 2 Peter 3, we see that the heavens and earth are reserved for fire until the Day of Judgment, emphasizing the certainty of God's promises. Furthermore, the resurrection of Jesus Christ serves as the foundation for our hope in the new creation. Just as Christ was raised, transformed into His glorified body, we too are promised resurrection and renewal. As Paul states in 2 Corinthians 5:17, 'If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature,' affirming that the transformative work of God begins in us and extends to the whole of creation.
